Flies (Toronto)

If you care about your health and want to have a healthy place for your family, then you should have optimum protection. The growing numbers of flies in your area can be a dilemma to the community so they should be stopped as early as possible.

The Flies

There are over 120,000 species of flies in the globe – six of which represent the majority of the humans and animals’ problems. And in Toronto alone, they are considered as one of the bothering pests that should be prevented.

The studies had shown that the flies have the ability to transmit the diseases like typhoid fever, cholera, dysentery, anthrax, tuberculosis, yaws and a few to name. In several instances, these files are the ones indirectly responsible for some causes such as poultry death and low castle weight.

Average of the flies are living for 30 days. The females of its kind will lay their eggs at any place. The eggs will count from 400 to 600 and hatches to a small and grub-like creature that will primarily look more like a worm then sooner transform to an actual fly. They will grow in a matter of days after inducing themselves with nutrients from the host animals, ponds and soil.

The Prevention

Since the flies are too small and sometimes unnoticeable due to their size, they can enter even in small splits in the doors, window frames and others crevices. In order to prevent them from entering to your home, place some fitted screen on these places. However, if the infestation is too rampant, you may more likely need to buy products to aid the issue or call for a professional service from the pest controller company. These are the best solution you can count on at times like this. Surely, flies will reduce their numbers and entirely eradicated in no time.

Common types of flies

There are three common types of flies you can see around Toronto and some nearby places. There are cluster flies, face flies and blow flies.
The cluster files are 8 to 10 mm in length and they are colored in dark gray with some black on their body. At the first sight they are resembling the house flies but obviously, they are slower when moving and darker in appearance. They may not be health hazardous but they can leave stains in your home fabrics and walls.
The next is the face flies. They are pests of a castle and they can hibernate and invade your homes, especially during the summer season. During this time, the face flies are feeding on the mucus secretion from noses and eyes of horses and castles, giving serious problems in the health of humans and other animals.
And finally the blow flies, which are also referred as green or blue bottle flies. They can attack in the early spring or on winter season and they are considered as the robust flies having a shiny and metallic body. They are developed in the animal manures and dead carcasses. They are attracted to dead animals, dogs’ feces and garb ages – anything that is dirty. This means they can carry bacteria and harms our health.
